We believe that every child is a unique individual with an innate curiosity about the world and natural confidence in themselves. We provide a stimulating and colourful environment with child-led, play-based activities to tap into this curiosity and build their confidence.
We want all of our children to leave us ready to continue their journey of lifelong learning at primary school. We work closely with local primary schools to support children in developing the skills necessary to start school, and to provide some familiarity to ease those starting school nerves.
Our curriculum centres on the Early Learning Goals, as laid out by the Department of Education. We organise our learning around stories to foster a love of reading and draw links between our different areas of learning.
We accept children from the age of 2 years and 6 months and we encourage the early social development and improved school readiness that is seen in children who start at this age.
In 2020, Huncote Community Preschool was established as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a Board of Trustees to oversee its work. Our trustees have experience in education and child development, allowing them to support the Preschool Team in delivering excellent care and early years education.
Our Preschool Manager is supported by our two Deputy Managers in planning and delivering an engaging curriculum. Our Preschool Practitioners are enthusiastic and cheerful, coming alongside our children and encouraging them in their development.
Mrs Simmons manages the setting and oversees the staff on a daily basis. She is a qualified Early Years Teacher and previously worked in Primary education.
Our deputy manager Miss Becky Clarke is Level 5 trained and Mrs Sue Milne is Level 3 trained, they support the manager with planning, leadership within the setting, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and liaising with families. Miss Clarke is also our Senco.
Our remaining team is made up of Miss Marie Kilby, Mrs Vikki Harmer and Mrs Linda Fleming and all have Level 3 training. Each child is allocated to a member of staff as a Key Worker so that they receive individual attention to their needs and development.
If you have questions about the Preschool, please send us a message.
We will get back to you as soon as possible.
